MAM Legal Services was founded on a simple observation: people facing debt collection lawsuits deserve better than the current system offers. Too often, defendants face confusing processes, missed deadlines, and limited access to affordable legal support.
We saw an opportunity to solve this problem by combining three elements: licensed attorney partnerships for legal work, trained case operations teams for coordination and support, and modern technology to deliver speed and efficiency.
Our model separates legal work (handled by attorneys) from operational support (handled by our team), allowing us to provide comprehensive defense services at accessible price points while maintaining quality and compliance.

The Problem We're Solving
Debt collection lawsuits are one of the most common types of civil litigation in the United States. Millions of Americans are sued by debt collectors every year, and the vast majority of these cases end in default judgment — not because the defendant actually owes the money, but because they didn't know how to respond or couldn't afford to hire an attorney.
The debt collection industry is sophisticated and well-resourced. Collection law firms file hundreds or thousands of cases per month, often using automated systems to generate complaints and track deadlines. The defendants they sue are typically individuals who are already financially stressed, unfamiliar with the legal system, and overwhelmed by the prospect of going to court.
The result is a system that is deeply tilted against ordinary people. Studies have found that defendants appear in court in only a small fraction of debt collection cases, and that default judgments are entered in a large majority of cases that go uncontested. These judgments lead to wage garnishment, bank levies, and property liens that can devastate household finances for years.
What's particularly troubling is that many of these cases involve debts that are disputed, time-barred, or that the plaintiff cannot adequately prove. Debt buyers — who purchase portfolios of charged-off accounts for pennies on the dollar — frequently lack the documentation needed to prove the debt in court. When defendants show up and demand proof, many of these cases are dismissed or settled favorably. But most defendants never show up.
MAM Legal Services was built to change this dynamic. By combining attorney expertise with modern case operations, we make it possible for ordinary people to participate effectively in their own defense — at a price point that is accessible to those who need it most.
